I saw this tweet today

And I thought it’s worth putting together my thoughts on why Openclaw is a terrific product - not comparable to n8n. If anything, it’s more comparable to claude code because both will actively try to find a solution to a given problem.

Three reasons why OC has been great for me:

1. Talking via an instant messenger

My openclaw instance - Kofi - is accessible to me anytime. He’s pinned to the top of my Whatsapp chat list. And Whatsapp is by far and away, my most used app. Kofi meets me where I need it most. I don’t have to fire up a terminal window for every small task - and wow, there are some many small tasks throughout the day.

2. Crons and the always-on nature of things

Cron jobs make this whole thing autonomous. It’s basically a task that runs on a schedule. Because Openclaw has the ability to run crons, it can, for instance, monitor incoming email. Or it can monitor website downtime. If the output of the cron needs any intervention, it can ’escalate’ it.

3. Max Convenience

My favourite bit in this whole openclaw frenzy is the ability to just forward something and say do the thing. I’ve used it for:

  • ad hoc image editing in nano-banana
  • ad hoc report generation (with a subsequent deploy to cloudflare pages that I can share)

and much more…

If you’d like to discuss any specifics about my setup.
